Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – National Center for Health Statistics
I worked as a writer/editor and then a public affairs specialist for several years at CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics. While my work included editing national-level publications and writing press releases to release to national media such as USA Today and The Today Show, I also had the opportunity to work with an international task force on a publication titled Making Data Meaningful.
Creative Writing
I am an award-winning novelist, earning the Creative Women of Oklahoma Award for Young Adult Book for Accidental Mobster. I have won awards through the Oklahoma Writer’s Federation and enjoy blogging about books, especially children and teen literature.
